Lead - “to act as a guide” or “to guide”

Leader - "a person who leads, directs, commands, or guides a group or activity”

                                                                                                                  (Webster’s Dictionary)

The underlying implications of leadership are many and deep. Given the authority, anyone can command but there is a difference between the two:

“The farther we keep away from the ‘boss’ proposition—of being the ‘boss’ of the men under us—the more successful we are going to be....but it does exist in many places throughout the country, where a man, because of his impressive title, assumes the attitude of a ‘boss’ and tells people what to do, instead of helping them to do it..”   Thomas J. Watson Sr. President IBM (1914-1956)

Leading is a delicate art calling for “people-oriented” attributes that many find elusive or difficult to develop.  That is what 4 Thought Perspectives is all about, developing and enhancing leaders with people-oriented skills!

Executive keynote Speaker

The Consummate Follower

is a keynote presentation that tells the story of the lower level employees', in some cases the middle manager, perspectives of what their life is like working at their level to executive leaders in a passionate and thought provoking way.  Leroy draws on over 20 years of observational and actual experience from his life and those he has encountered along the way while working in different careers, positions, levels of responsibilities and locations around the world.  This presentation is very insightful to executives who want to understand some reasons why employees leave their jobs for another or why their loyalty for the company is simply not there.
